With snow piling up this winter, we would like to remind residents to keep fire hydrants clear of snow and ice if one is on or near your property. It only takes a few minutes to shovel out a fire hydrant, and those few minutes could turn out to be lifesaving if a fire breaks out in your home or a neighbor’s home. Critical time is wasted when firefighters arrive on the scene of a fire and have to dig out a fire hydrant that has not been cleared. Firefighters need about 3 feet around the hydrant to work with a clear path to the street. Thank you for your cooperation.
